I used to collect music videos in the 80's and 90's when they kicked off and the technology was developing really fast.
New video effect? Yes, it would be in the next video from Frankie or Depeche Mode. The amazing Russel Mulcahy videos for Duran Duran and Human League were ground breaking.
I don't watch music videos much nowadays but this week came a cross a gem - the new OK Go video for their song "This Too Shall Pass. So much ordered destruction. I wonder how many takes they needed?
The video is a great take on the work of Rube Goldberg and his convoluted entertaining machines.
Can't remember the tune though...
