A fine man

My cousin Sandy died today after defying all predictions following his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
A pilot in the RAF and serving in both Gulf Wars he was always gentle and respectful, full of fun and an authority on all things gadget.

His manner before diagnosis and attitude, determination and strength after diagnosis was a wake up call to all of us who muddle through life postponing decisions and waiting for things to happen. He inspired me to move on in my own life and to wake up, lift my eyes, raise my expectations and get on with it.

He is now at peace and free from pain living on in our memories, grounding and informing our decisions and remembered with a very broad smile.
